Happy Birthday Britney!!!

I want to take a moment to send out a Happy Birthday to the brilliantly talented Britney Spears! 

Britney Spears was a teen sensation in the early 90's. If you're a 90's baby, you know who she is, even if you weren't a fan...her music was EVERYWHERE!

December 2nd, 1981, born Britney Jean Spears--a fellow Sagittarius, she is. Her first two albums sold over 20 million copies (Baby One More Time & Oops! I Did It Again); following the release of 6 other albums from 2001 to 2013.

Annnd...I'm still a fan.

True, she's had her share of rocky moments, from the heart wrenching breakup from her (what should of been husband) Mickey Mouse Club playmate, Justin Timberlake to the moment she went berserk and shaved her head due to a break in her sanity, and let's not forget the numerous panty-less flashes in the media. Paparazzi basically made millions off of Spears alone.  


Nonetheless, I will forever be a fan; she was a part of the music cult I grew up listening to, including but not limited to, N SYNC, Backstreet Boys, LFO, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, and many others. One of my (still) all time favorite Spears songs is "Sometimes", which still resides within the music lists of all of my devices, from tablets to my HTC One.

Even if you weren't a fan, you have to hand it to her: dances were off the Richter scale, outfits were on point, beautiful is an understatement, and she's maintained herself pretty well in the industry, despite the past she's had with flopped singles and bad situationships. She's still an entertainer.

She was crowned "Princess of Pop"...and still to this day, I don't know one artist who's been able to top her.

Rise of the Underground: Artists to Watch

Underground music fan? You're not alone. These are the confessions of an underground music fanatic; some of these artists you may know, or have at least heard of...and I am pretty sure there are a few you may be a fan of after viewing this.

Here's my Top 10 and there are more where these came from! I am a genre rule breaker and these are not the ONLY underground artists I am aware of...but these are my favorites and the ones that I believe most people can relate to. You can click on their links or their names; either of which will lead you straight to amazing talent. Know of more? Leave a link to their music in the comments and I'll check them out.

5. Niykee Heaton ... refreshing...underrated...underexposed...the list could go on & on. She went viral after World Star Hip-hop got their hands on her acoustic version of Chief Keef's "Love Sosa". 6. Eppic...I discovered him on YouTube and have been a fan ever since. I stumbled over his talent when I was going through a personal situation and if I could have duct taped the repeat button to keep from having to continuously press it, I would have. 7. Jess Moskaluke .... Featured in Eppic's original "Storm before the Calm", they compliment each other well. I love the soulful, country sound that she possesses. 8. Kehlani Parrish...a friend of mine on one of my social networks posted one of her songs on their page and I was up on a late night working on a project & I just happened to click on the link...I am GLAD I did! With a soulful pop sound, I could listen to her music all day! Here's her original "The Letter", which I could do nothing but relate to, which is another reason why I love her.

10. Macy Kate ... just because she's #10 doesn't mean I like her any less than my #1...I am a genre rule breaker. I will mix my country with my pop and my rap artists and compile them all on one mix and blast it in my car! She's a little rock, a side of pop, with a country flair; this girl is versatile!
